Biography

Jane was born on 17 Jun 1799. She passed away on 14 Oct 1871 and was buried in the Hogue Cemetery, Wayne County, Iowa.[1]

13 Jul 1824: Jane Utter and Samuel Moore are married in Blount County, Tennessee.[2]

1850 Census: Jane (52) and her husband Samuel (47) are living in Sugar Creek, Indiana with 8 children: Amanda J. (25), Joseph (21), James (18), Martha (14), Samuel (12), William (10), and Surphina (6). The record indicates that Jane was born in Tennessee.[3]

1860 Census: Jane and Samuel have moved the family to the Washington Township area of Wayne County, Iowa. Only 5 children still reside in the household: Amanda J. (30), Mary F. (23), Samuel H. (21), William A. (19), and Sirphina (16).[4]
