Biography

Owen M was born in 1912. He was the son of Herman Alexander Upshaw and Joanna Wren. ^[1]

Owen's mother died shortly after his birth. In 1930 he was living with his grandparents, Alexander and Phoebe Upshaw, in Blanco County, Texas.^[2]

In the 1940 census Owen (age 27), Laborer, was the married grandson of Alex Upshaw in Blanco, Texas. Owen's wife Mae Anna and two children were living with them also.^[3]

Owen served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946.^[4]

In the 1950 census Owen (age 38), Porter, was the married head of household in Austin, Travis, Texas, United States. He was living with wife Mae A. and two children.^[5]

Owen married Altha Elizabeth Thomas on 4 August 1953 in Travis, Texas, United States.^[6]

He passed away in 2001. He was buried in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
