Biography
Birth
Emma was born in 1851 in South Leigh, Oxfordshire.[1] She was the daughter of Joseph Keene and his wife Sarah (nee Green). She was baptised at South Leigh on 9th March 1851.[2] Her father stated on the register that he was a labourer.
Marriage
George Pickett and Eliza Keene were married after banns at South Leigh, Oxfordshire on 22nd November 1873.[3] They were bachelor and spinster, both of full age and living in South Leigh. George was a labourer and the son of Richard Pickett, also a labourer. Eliza was the daughter of Joseph Keene who was a labourer. George signed his own name on the register whilst Eliza could only make her mark with a cross. The witnesses to the marriage were John Bates and Ann Pickett.[4]
Death
Eliza died in 1889 in South Leigh, Oxfordshire.[5] She was buried in South Leigh on 24th December 1889[6]

Her birth was registered as Keen but her baptism stated Keene.
