Biography

Little is definitively known about Anne other than she was the wife of Richard Rowley. In the absence of a marriage record it is estimated that Richard and Anne were wed around 1735 and they were born twenty or so years earlier. Anne's maiden name has so far proven indeterminate,

Records indicate that eleven children, possibly all siblings, were baptised in Ditton Priors Shropshire between the years 1737 and 1757, father Richard, Mother Anne, as follows: -

• 1737 April 07, baptism Cornelius Rowley ^[1] passed away April 10 ^[2].
• 1738 April 20, baptism Thomas Rowley ^[3].
• 1740 September 7, baptism Daniel Rowley ^[4].
• 1742 January, baptism John Rowley ^[5].
• 1745 May 05, baptism Francis Rowley ^[6], appears to have passed away at a young age burial 1746 August 17 ^[7].
• 1747 November 14, William Rowley ^[8].
• 1749 January 7, Steven Rowley ^[9].
• 1752 March 15, baptism Edward Rowley ^[10].
• 1754 June 9, baptism Esther (Rowley) Garbett ^[11].
• 1757 May 2, baptism Richard Rowley ^[12]. ++
• 1757 May 27, baptism Ann Rowley^[13]. ++

1784 June 10, burial of Richard Rowley (possibly the husband of Anne) ^[14]

Parish records indicate an Anne, widow of Richard Rowley, was buried at Ditton Priors on the 22 January 1785 ^[15].

Notes

++ Ann's baptism record shows her to be a twin, raising the possibility of a transcription error with her and Richard's baptism dates, may be apparent on original record's, needs checking .
