Biography

Judith ( Unk) Bugby and her husband of Richard Bugby came to Roxbury in 1630, likely among the Winthrop fleet. [1] [2]

Judith was born about 1602, based on her death in 1682 at the age of 80 years. [3] [4]

She was admitted to the church at Roxbury, Massachusetts as member # 61. [2]

She married Robert Parker by 1635. [2] [3]

  • 1635: December 6: Robert Parker was excommunicated from the church at Roxbury, for 'hard usage' on both his wife and her children, and for selling her children's inheritance. [2] [3] [4]
  • 1636: Removed to Cambridge. [3]
  • 1657: February 1: Robert Parker was dismissed from the church to join the church at Cambridge. [3]
  • 1658/9: January: Robert Parker, his wife and children Benjamin, John, Sarah and Rachel are on the list of those in full communion at the Cambridge Church. [3]
  • 1671: April 4: Robert Parker sold 35 acres at Billerica to jonathan Danforth, which his wife also signed 'Jude' Parker acknowledged with her mark. [3]

Judith died at Cambridge or Lexington on May 8, 1682. [3] [4] [5]

Robert died at Cambridge in March or April, 1684/5. [3]

In his will, written on March 24, 1684/5, Robert left bequests to:

  • daughter Sarah Foster, the majority of his estate
  • after her decease, the remainder to go to Sarah's children with Thomas receiving a double portion
  • and noted sons Benjamin and John, deceased, had already received their share [3]

UNKNOWN-138054 and Unknown-444476 appear to represent the same person because: UNKNOWN-138054 merge into Unknown-444476 because of all caps. Keep all sources/bio/etc from Unknown-44476, a well researched PGM profile.
Still need to change her LNAB to unknown.

Unable to find anything prior to Bugby, she should probably be switched to Unknown.

Bugby was her married name, but I think changing to Unknown can wait until after research is done on her husbands.

Bugbee-206 and Bugbee-3 are not ready to be merged because: I think this is two different people. One Judith (unknown) wife of Parker and Rugby. One Judith wife of Mattingly who is in Maryland. Some research needs to be done.

Richard Bugby-9 first husband.

Her LNAB is unknown.

Bugbee-206 and Bugbee-3 appear to represent the same person because: same husband, same death date/place. please merge
Birth place of Judith must be and error, as there were no births in Massachusetts prior to 1620 landing of Mayflower. Her birth was most likely Hacney Middlesex England. And her maiden name appears to be Mattingly prior to her marriage to Richard Bugbee in England, 2nd husband Robert Parker.
