Plymouth Colony: Its History and People 1620-1691'[1] states that William Ford's wife was either Anna or Hannah.
She married Deacon William Ford of the Fortune.
Although in her husband's will, dated 12 September 1676, he called her only "my beloved wife", "Anna ffoorde the relict of William ffoorde late of Marshfield" swore to his inventory on 30 October 1676.[2]
Anna, the widow of William Ford Sr. deceased, was buried the first of September 1684 at Marshfield.[4][5]
From Kathy Alvis Patterson: Statements[6] are frequently made that he [William Ford Sr.?] married a daughter of Anthony Eames. Robert M and Helen C Search in their article "Jonathan Carver of Kent, Conn., and Kingston, Pa.," NEHGR, Vol 118 (1964), page 107, in a note ascribe this theory to Walter Goodwin Davis, Ancestry of Joseph Neal, 1945, page 105.
Immigrated before 1643 ATBA [?]. More information and data on her four children is given in Ford Family Genealogy, by Hannibal C Ford, 1950; this book has mistakes; it is better to check Plymouth Colony[1] by Eugene Stratton (p 293) for up-to-date and accepted lineages before accepting early data. Especially his parentage as given in this book is not correct; he was not the son of the Widow Ford, who arrived in MA in 1621 on the Fortune.
Not this family: The book, Pioneers of Massachusetts by Charles Henry Pope, has the following on the family you have inquired about: Ford, Widow, came in the Fortune to Plymouth, and had 4 lots in 1623. Her children John and Martha had shares in cattle in 1627. Martha married William Nelson. Nelson, William, Plymouth, before 1636; land grant 3 Aug 1640, listed as able to bear arms in 1643. Juryman, 1648. He married 29 Oct 1640, Martha Ford; children Joane, born 28 Feb. 1650. Will dated 31 Oct 1679, probated 5 March 1679/80, bequests to wife Martha, sons John and William; daughter Martha Cobb. Inventory of the widow's estate was taken 7 March 1683/4.
Parents: Unknown; Cannot be Anthony Eames 1595 - 1686 because they didn't immigrate until 1634

Previous Eames profiles where merged into this "Unkown" surname profile. There is an argument in this profile that Anna was Not a daughter of Anthony Eames. However it seems that there is more evidence than not that her name was Eames, that does not necessarily mean that her father was Anthony Eames. What do the other profile managers want to do with Anna's surname? Keep it unknown, or change it back to Eames but make sure Anthony does not show up as the father unless there is good evidence? I would vote to show her name as Eames until evidence proves otherwise. Anyone else? Katherine Patterson, you seem to be the main merger to Unknown... what are your thoughts? Respectfully - Darin
