Jack was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and enlisted in the Navy right out of high school in 1950. While stationed in the San Diego California area he met Mary Ann Linsday at a party. They married in a Catholic church wedding on 23 August 1952 a week after Jack turned 21.

Jack and Mary raised 8 children - Anthoney, Teresa, Anita, Paul, Cynthia, Victoria, Eric and Joseph in Saugus, California.

After leaving the Navy, Jack worked in the aerospace industry for several aircraft manufacturers including at the Lockheed Skunkworks.
