"The New Netherland Settler of the Turck Family was Paulus Turck j.m uijt den Hage (from the Hague) and his full name is indicated as Paulus Jacobsz Turck at the baptism of his oldest son (NYDR 1661 (63)). The De Roever notes contain a reference to a notarial paper of 14 January 1665 by Not. J.Hellerus, Amsterdam [1] wherein was mentioned the settlement between Anna van Gesel (Note: the actual record + marriage record show her as Annetje Jans van Geel, not van Gesel) wid. Jacob Turck and Nicolaes van den Vijver uncle and guardian of Paulus Turck at that time in New Netherland (the age of majority was 25 in the Netherlands). This establishes the name of the mother of the settler, a name also known in New Netherland. For here was Cornelis van Gesel, Secretary of the Delaware, who in (RNA 11:420) is called Cornelis van Giesel Simonsen. His wife's name was Anna Catharina Ram (Du.Ms. 244 i) He had a son Jacob baptized in 1661..." [2]
Note: Anna Jans van Geel was not the first but (probably) second wife of his father, they married in 1656, so Anna more likely was his stepmother and Barbar Cooman, the previous (first?) wife of Jacob most likely was Paulus's mother...
- In 1686 he and Aeltje were living in Beede Weg (Broadway) near probable relatives Albert Barents and Ariaentje Cornelis as per list of Members of the Dutch Reformed Church of New York IN 1686, Arranged According to the Streets of the City By Dominee Henricus Selyns IN 1686.[3]

I just found the (or a) notarial deed (from1667) in Amsterdam that mentions Anna Jans van Geel as widow of Jacob Turck and their marriage, Anna Jans van Geel was the (probably) second wife of Jacob Turck, according the marriage with Anna Jans van Geel in 1656, Jacob Turck was widower of Barbar Coomans (no mariage record found yet so not certain, but she might be related to or from the Coijmans/Coeijmans, Koijmans, Coymans family that also has familymembers who went to New Netherland ?) So Anna Jans van Geel (not van Gesel) more likely was his stepmother. His aunt was Helena Turck, she was married to Nicolaes van den Vijver and they were the guardians of Paulus Turck, son of the deceased Jacob Turck. It's not really easy to read, but so far, it looks like Helena Turck (aunt of Paulus) was the sister of Jacob.
Greets and happy and healthy New Year everyone !
