Biography

Marie Barbe Trudeau was born 14 November 1721, and was baptized at St. Antoine-de-Longueuil, 15 November 1721, daughter of Charles Trudeau and Marie Madeleine Loisel—her sponsors were Étienne Trudeau and Barbe Guyon.[1] Marie-Barbe Trudeau, veuve Tétro dit Ducharme, died 7 August 1798, aged about 75 years, and was buried at Verchères the next day in the presence of Pierre Crevier dit Duvernay and Louis Labadie.[2]

Marie Barbe Trudeau (“Truto” in register) married at St. Antoine-de-Longueuil, 13 January 1744, Joachim Tétreau dit Ducharme; his residence was St. François-de-Verchères. The witnesses were Louis Tétro (brother of groom), Joseph Tétro (brother of groom), François Tétro (brother of groom), Marie-Françoise Tétro (sister of groom), Renée Gogue [dit] Sanschagrin, François Hogue, Joseph Guyon (brother-in-law of groom), Marie Anne Geuter (sister-in-law of groom), Charles Truto (brother of bride), Joseph Truto (brother of bride), Marie-Madeleine Truto (sister of bride), Tous-saint Truto (uncle of bride), Toussaint Truto (first cousin of bride), Pascal Dubuc (brother-in-law of bride), and Michel Dubuc.[3]

Joachim Tétreau dit Ducharme was born 9 July 1723, son of Joseph Marie (Tetreault) Tétreault dit Ducharme and Marie Anne Jarret dite Beauregard, and was baptized at Trés-Ste.-Trinité-de-Contrecœur Roman Catholic Church the same day (his parents’ residence was Verchères)—his sponsors were Joseph Tétrau and Anne-Marie Anne dite Burelle.[4] Joachim Ducharme, premier charitre, died, aged about 60; and was buried at Verchères, 6 April 1778, in the presence of Louis Leduc, Jean Leduc, François Dansereau, Michel Maplaise, “and others.”[5]
