Biography
Mary Trout was born in 1820 in Rockingham Co., VA. Her parents are unknown but there was a George Trout who was a close neighbor of George Shaver in 1810 Rockingham Co. He could be Mary's father.
Mary married Peter Shaver in 1837 and by 1850 they had moved to Botetourt Co. The couple had at least 10 children: Margaret Catherine Shaver (1838), Mary 'Mollie' S. Shaver (1840), George W. Shaver (1843), John Neuton Shaver (1846), Edward M. Shaver (1848), Eliza Shaver (1851), Virginia Shaver (1855), Laura Shaver (1859), Ella Shaver (1861), and Frank Shaver (1864).
Mary died in 1889 and was buried in the Shaver-Deyerle Cemetery in Cave Spring, VA.
