Biography

Henry B. Trout, 91, widely known retired farmer and Civil War veteran, died at 5:45 o'clock last evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.A. Moore in Gaston, following a four weeks' illness. Mr. Trout was born in Licking County, Ohio, November 25, 1842. The son of George Washington Trout and Chamilla Christy. Until his recent illness, he had resided on the same farm two miles southwest of Gaston for over eighty years.

Funeral services will be held at the daughters's hoem at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with the Rev. Max Shafer in charge. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery west of Gaston. The body will be removed from the Meeks mortuary to the home this afternoon.

Mr. Trout was a member of the 69th Indiana Voluntary Infantry, Williams Post G.A.R., and Delaware Lodge of Masons. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Moore; four sons, Warland Trout of Gaston, Orland Trout of Muncie, Mark Trout of Omaha, Neb., and Clayton Trout of Columbus, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Woodring of Gaston, and Mrs. Lena Walker of Alexandria.
