Son of Dr. George Treon and Annie Ellis.
George was born in 1891. His birth date is confirmed by his World War I draft registration[1] and his birth date and place are confirmed by his World War II draft registration document.[2]
He married Blanche V. Grittner on 14 Oct 1914 in Zion Lutheran Church in Turbotville, Pennsylvania.[3]
He passed away in 1976.

WATSONTOWN — George E. Treon, 85, of 720 Main St. died today at 6:25 a.m. in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient since Sept. 25.
He had been in failing health for the past several years.
Mr. Treon lived most of his life in the Watsontown-Turbotville area.
His wife, the former Blanche V. Grittner, died Feb. 25, 1976.
He and his wife owned and operated the Penny Hill Restaurant, Montgomery Pike. They also operated cafeterias for many years a the Pennsylvania State Police barracks and American Home Foods, both of Milton, Merck and Co., Danville, and during World War II at the U. S. Government Ordinance plant, Allenwood RD.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Watsontown, and St. James Episcopal Church, Exchange.
Mr. Treon was a emmber of the F. and AM Lodge No. 401 of Watsontown, the Williamsport Consistory and the Irem Temple Shrine, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Aug. 25, 1891, in Turbotville, he was a son of the late Dr. George W. and Annie I. Ellis Treon.
He is survived by a son, George W. Treon of Miami, Fla., four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Minnick of Williamsport, Mrs. Jane Anstadt of Lewisburg, Mrs. June Sheldon of Willard, N.Y., and Mrs. Marian Suloff of Carlisle, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Paul E. Cronrath Funeral Home, Watsontown.
The Rev. Harold Stoudt, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, Watsontown, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Exchange Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.[4]
