Biography

Elizabeth Trent was born on August 20, 1872 in Breathitt County, Kentucky. Her parents were Wes Trint and Annie Miller. (Both were from Breathitt, County.) ^[1]

She was listed in all the census as being a white female. She was able to read and write but reported that she only went through the 4th grade in School. ^{[2] [3] [4] [5] [6]}

In 1880, Elizabeth was living in Frozen, Breathitt, Kentucky, United States. She is listed as the niece of John Miller. ^[7]

She married George Madison Handy (1870-) in 1888. ^{[2] [3] [4] [5] [6]}

In 1900, Elizabeth was living in ED 97 Magisterial District 6, Stillwater Precinct, Wolfe, Kentucky, United States with Her husband and reported that she married in 1888. They have 7 Children in the home. ^[2]

In 1910, Elizabeth, George and their 6 children was living in Hazel Green, Kentucky. She reported that she ws the mother of 12 children however only 9 of those children were living at the time of census. She said she had been married of 12 years. ^[3]

By 1920, Elizzie and George were back in Stillwater, Wolfe, Kentucky, United States with their 5 children. ^[4]

In 1930 Elizabeth and George were living in the home of Police Brewer in Lee City, Wolfe County, Kentucky. They were listed as being lodgers. She reported that she first married at the age of 16. ^[5]

They moved to Gosneyville in Wolfe County, Kentucky before 1935 and were still there in 1940. ^[6]

Elizabeth passed away on on June 7, 1943 in Trumbell, Wolfe County, Kentucky. Her cause of death was listed as Acute Gastroenteritis. ^{[1] [8]}

She was laid to rest on June 8th in the Edwards Family Graveyard in Trent, Wolfe County, Kentucky, United States of America. ^{[1] [9]}
