Biography

[1][2][3][4]

James was born about 1940. He is the son of Harry Toy. James is still living.

We know he existed because he is mentioned in the obituary of his father, Harry C. Toy and the obituary for his mother, Gertrude (Sutherland) Wissing. I can find no birth record, death record, marriage record, military record etc. I have found only 1 census record that appears to be him but I have no proof that it is actually him. However, given that he is not living with his mother and siblings in 1950, this makes sense. There is a James Toy, age 8, living at the George Bacon Health Center which, in 1948 was part of an ex-military base turned into a treatment facility for children who were considered to be socially and emotionally disturbed. If this is him, it would explain why there are no other, marriage records or military records. When James father died, the obituary says that James E is living in Tampa, Fl. When his mother died, her obituary says he is living in Tampa Florida. A search of these areas brings up no records of any kind or news articles. I'm thinking he may be in a residential home there. I have added the 1850 Census record for the George Bacon Health center to this profile as I believe that this is probably James E Toy, son of Harry C and Gertrude Toy. Per the obituary for brother Paul Martin Toy who died in 2013, he was predeceased by brother James Toy. This means that James died sometime between 1982 and 2013, a 30 year span. So, I don't know if he died in Florida or in New Jersey. I just know he died.
