Biography

Cecil was born in 1920. He was the son of Irvin Tower. He attended school in Upper Rockport. He passed away in 1946.

"Cecil Tower got the call-up. He was enlisted as a trooper in the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps and served overseas. After the war he stayed around Rockport for a while, where Rupert Delesdernier got to renew a friendship with him. Cecil enjoyed playing card games and having a good time, but he never talked about his wartime experience. All Rupert remembers was hearing of his once having to take cover from flying shrapnel. On his return, he got to work at the sandstone quarry in Sackville. In 1946 he went on a trip out west with three or four other local boys. While on the trip he suffered from acute meningitis and died in an Ottawa hospital. He was 26 years old." ^[1]
