Biography

Margaret was born in 1774. She was the daughter of Adam Torrence and Ann Bonar. She died in Mooresville, Iredell County, North Carolina on Sep 2, 1841. She did not marry.^[1]

At the time of her death she owned 42 slaves. Her brother, Alexander Torrence, was the executor of her estate.^[2]

-My brother Alexander Torrence.

-to my nephew David Lawson Torrence two of Moriah's children named Miles and Quincey and one of Rachels called Peter. Forgives note he owes her.

-to my nephew Alexander son of my brother Alexander negro Sarah and her children, also Rachels children Tom, Harriet, Julius, Henry and Hiram. Also George who is in his possession.

-to my neice Ann Johnston (daughter of my brother Alexander Torrence) Margaret and her children and Moriahs daughter Easter

-to my neice Jane Douglas (daughter of brother Alexander Torrence) Moriah and her son Milton, also Convice, Mary and Seealy and Rachels son Abiel

-to my neice Rebecca Potts (daughter of my brother Alexander Torrence) Grace and her children who are in her possession, also Rachels daughter Mary, and William and Moriahs child Sarah
