Mary (Tonkin) Richmond was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Mary was born in 1856. She is the daughter of John Tonkin and Jane Rundle. [1]

She married Henry James Richmond in 1876 in Victoria.[2] Their children were:

Mrs. Mary Jane Richmond, Devonport
The death occurred at the Meercroft Hospital, Devonport, yesterday, of Mrs. Mary Jane Richmond. Deceased, who was born in Victoria, and spent the early part of her life there, living at Port Fairy, Colac and Frankston, went to Devonport about 34 years ago. Apart from being a member of the Victoria League, she lived in retirement during the latter part of her life. Deceased, who was aged 84 years, married Mr. Henry James Richmond, who passed away three years ago. There are five sons, Ernest ("Age," Melbourne), William ("Reformer," Colac), Herbert (Messrs. J. B. Were Pty. Ltd., Melbourne), Harold (A.M.P., Melbourne), and Charles (Devonport), and one daughter (Mrs. A. Steer, Melbourne). The funeral, which will be private, will take place to-day. [8]
