Hi Susan,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

I hope this helps,

Debi

Hi again,

I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!

If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

REMINDERS: (1) We use Google Groups for project collaboration and you aren’t yet a member of the group, please submit a join request here (make sure to add your name/WikiTree ID to the request). (2) add GERMANY to your followed G2G tags so you don't miss any discussions in G2G (see: Help:Tags#How_to_follow_tags Help:Tags).

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Susan

Thank you so much for your interest in the Australian Project in the past and your contributions to Australia on WikiTree. Should you have the time in the future and your interest draws you back in our direction, we hope you will rejoin the project.

Hi Susan

I'm following up my post on your profile about your interest in continuing as an active member of the Australia Project. We really hope you would like to stay involved and look forward to hearing from you as soon as convenient.

The Australia Project page has the list of teams for your to review, as well as our minimal requirements for active membership. If you have decided that you don't have time to contribute at the moment, that is absolutely fine too, and you can rejoin whenever you wish. Regards Gillian, co-Leader, Australia Project

Hi Cindy, thanks for your interest. I'm slowly working things out. My computer has been out of action on and off since New years eve. I have it back in working condition now and hoping to get more familiar with the processes and workings of the site now. Thanks Cheers Sue.

Thanks Susan for joining us! I’m Cindy, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hello Again,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to this link. RootsSearch. There are 24 different websites available and most are free. Give it a try!

P.S. It's good to see another member with ties to Australia! Did you know that we have an Australia Project on WikiTree? We also have our own Facebook group for WikiTree in Australia .

If the links don't work in your e-mail, you can click through from the public messages section in your profile.

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family.

I recommend starting with our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you create your family profiles. If the link doesn't work in your e-mail, you can find it in the public comments on your profile page.

Need help? Just ask!

Above all, have FUN!  :) I hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have!

Kind regards,

Vicky Majewski ~ WikiTree Greeter & Member since August 2015

Hi, how long does it usually take to be accepted as a volunteer? I would like to be able to help where I can but I'm not very tech savvy so I will try to do what I can and hopefully learn something at the same time. Thanks Cheers Sue.

Hello, S!

First of all, I can assure that Wikitree will remain free. Also, I think if you take a look at our How to use Wikitree page and visit the links there, you'll get a good sense for what we are doing and how we are doing it.

As a volunteer, we are simply asking you to share your genealogical research and expertise. You can add the close generations of your family tree until you run across ancestors that are already out here.

At that point, you will begin collaborating with genealogists who share an ancestor with you -- or, in a lot of cases, they are simply researching people who interest them.

Please let me know if you have any more questions. We would love to have you as a member!

Julie, co-Leader, Greeter Project
