Ann Thorn was the second daughter of James Thorn (or Thorne), a market gardener from Putney, Surrey, and his wife Ann. She was baptised at St Mary, Barnes, Surrey, on 1 July 1781.[1]
She married William John Speed at Petersham, Surrey, on 7 November 1799.[2] Her elder sister, Martha, was one of the witnesses as the marriage.
The marriage produced one child, William John Speed, born in 1800.
At the 1851 census, she was living at the New Almhouses in Isleworth, Middlesex. She was recorded as being a former schoolmistress and endowed with an income of £20 per annum by the almhouse.[3]
She died in February 1861, at age 80, and was buried at Isleworth on 25 February 1861.[4][5]
