Research Notes

  • "Helga átti fyrr Krák Hallvarðsson frá Auðunnarstöðum. (Þeir Jón og Krákur Hallvarðssynir drukknuðu í Víðidalsá við veiðiskap). Þar eptir varð Helga fylgikona síra Þorláks Hallgrímssonar, er fyrst var prestur að Stað í Hrútafirði; seinna rak Ólafur biskup Hjaltason síra Þorlák til að eiga hana; þeirra börn:
    a) Þórður á Marðarnúpi, 1638, 85 ára.
    b) Guðbrandur biskup; frá þeim er fjöldi manna kominn."[5]
  • Gudbrandur Porláksson var Biskop over Hólar Stift. Island og den første som oversatte biblen til islandsk. [6]
  • Haplogroup possibly Q-L804 based the test resaults of a 23andMe direct paternal line descendant, G.G. Lúðvíksson. Eysteinsson-236 17:51, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
    • His haplogroup could also have been R1b-L238 based on another 23andMe test reaults of F. Vilhjálmsson, a direct paternal line descendant of his brother Þórður Þorláksson. Going to be interesting to see if either one of those lines turn out to be correct. Eysteinsson-236 13:35, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
