Hi Steve. I've added the 1939 Register to John Henry. I copied the format for the Census from someone else's page years ago and now I just copy it over to a new page and change the names. I modified it for the 1939 Register and use it the same way. Anyway, I've written up the bio but just realised that I don't know how the story ends. Leaving that to you. I am orphaning the profile. Cheers.

Hello Steve

I am managing a name study here on Wikitree for the Britton surname. My particular interest is for those originally from Fermanagh, Ireland.

Here’s the name study page - Brittton Name Study Category Page. As you add ancestors to Wikitree please add the relevant category so they appear on these pages too!

If you have DNA tested and your Britton ancestors came from Ireland we would love you to join us at FTDNA in our ‘Brittons of Ireland’ project. Even if you have tested at another DNA site, its free to transfer your data to FTDNA! I hope you join us! Brittons of Ireland - DNA project support page

Hi Steve. Ashamed to admit I have no idea where the death date for Arthur Hurd came from! One of those copy from somewhere things I've had for years. Perhaps we should change it to before the burial date. I'd be happy with that. C

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk is the place to look for information Steve - have you tried there yet?? I've had great success with my Thomson clan who were shipbuilders on the Clyde in the 1800's.

Hello Steve, Welcome to Wikitree! I am researching the Britton family from Fermanagh, Ireland. Do you have any more information about your paternal grandmothers family? As your profile if private (red) we can't see your tree. It would be good if you could change it to 'Private with Public tree' - its the middle yellow one. Keeps other in your tree private but we can see how you connect to other people in the big tree. Enjoy Wikitree!! Veronica, Australia
Hi. Nice to hear from you. It will be very interesting to see what you have made of the Hurd family. Finding out where they came from before Leeds has been impossible so far. Do hope you enjoy the tree as much as I have. Regards, C

Hi Steve--

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? This is what makes WikiTree different than most other genealogy sites: Our goal is to have one profile per person.

Once you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to fill in your tags to tell us about your genealogical interests.

The Tags are a way for you to connect with other genealogists on WikiTree and follow activity in the topics that interest you. You can learn more on our Tags help page.

Once you click "Save Tag(s) and Volunteer," one of our Greeters will come along to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
