Thomas was born about 1792 in Hampshire, England. He appears on Saint Helena^[1] in 1820 when heis son William was baptised.

8 Jul 1841 - Thomas Ford Thompson married Eleanor Bobbins at St James.

5 Sep 1847 - Thomas Ford Thompson aged 56, Clerk of the Jamestown Church passed away and was buried in St Paul's churchyard.

A memorial stone in St Paul's churchyard Section E reads:

• In Memory of Thos Ford THOMPSON, a native of Portsmouth, Gov & Schoolmaster. A Public Benefactor Died 4th of Sept 1847 Aged 55 years, also of Louisa his wife, Died 18th of May 1840 aged 38 years. Deeply and justly regretted
