He is the son of Lewis Thompson and Mourning Bailey. By 1850, his mother, a widow, had remarried to James Pittman. He was living in the Pittman's household.[1] By 1860, he was living with his uncle, William S Thompson.[2]
He may have married Sophrona Harris, as there is a marriage record for a Cicero C Thompson and her from 1871.[3]
