Biography
Lydia was born in 1792. She was the daughter of Benjamin Thompson and Hamutal Thayer. She passed away in 1844. Lydia had a first husband Zachariah Horton. There were 3 daughters born of this marriage. Zachariah most likely abandoned his family previous to 1820 census, when Lydia and these 3 young girls are living with her parents. After Lydia and her second husband James deaths there were apparent questions about the will and the division of the estate. In these papers available in Monroe County Surrogates Court, details emerge about the marriage to Zachariah Horton. This is a fascinating tale and anyone descended from Lydia would find them interesting.
