Research Notes

Harrison is my maternal grandfather. He does not appear by the name "Harrison" on any census (that I can find) prior to 1900, where he appears with his family for the first time at the age of 15. In the 1900 census the family had a son, Mander H., who was born the same year my grandfather was born, who is not present on any subsequent census, or other public records that I can find. I have also not been able to find a death certificate. I believe that the 5 year old child named "Mander H. Thompson" on the 1900 New Madrid, Missouri Census, and the 15 year old boy on the 1910, Portage, New Madrid, Missouri Census, are one and the same.
