Biography

Charles was born in 1857 Aberdare, Glamorgan. The parents that list him in the 1861 census are Jenkins & Ann Thomas, and in 1870, 1880 census, Ann is listed as his mother. On his marriage record he lists his mother as Elizabeth and no father is listed. He had a sister named Elizabeth who was single and age 29 the year he was born (Ann would have been 49, makes it less likely Charles is her child).

The family immigrated to the US in 1869, after the death of Jenkins Thomas. Charles married Emily Whitney in 1888. He passed away in 1928.
