William Ap Thomas was born about 1585-1587 in Wales. One source says he was born in 1585 in Gwent County, Wales, where his wife was supposedly born, while another shows a date of 1587 in the town of Llangdock.
In looking over's today's communities in Wales, I found a Llanddarog in Carmarthenshire, but no such name in Gwent. Many places begin with "Llang" and different spellings make it difficult to pinpoint exact place of birth in Wales. Perhaps these were two different people.
William married Elizabeth about 1611 in Wales and they had a son named Robert Thomas. William died January 1677/78 in Elizabeth City, Hampton, Virginia. Alt death location Hampton, Elizabeth, Virginia, Colony of Virginia

I think our William AP Thomas Ancestor was a wealthy Merchant who traveled back and forth on business from London a few times. I found a document proving this - showing possible business partners who sponsored his and his son's travels. I recognized many names on the list of men being in business by contract with an 8th Great-grandfather of mine who was a member of the Worshipful Company of Drapers of London. If our Thomas family were members as well, they would not walk away from this lucrative business. The name of one of the sponsors and Businessmen was a Mr. Farrar, the same family That Rafe Burnet of London was in business with, Only a select few families could be members of this International trade business, yes they had business in the American Colonies. I will upload documentation as I find it, you can decide to save or work with me to find the documents in England.
Hi James I thought I'd touch base with you as I have proposed a merge of this profile which is ready to be completed. I just wondered if you have a source for the death date. Thanks so much. Gillian
