Matthew Fullarton Thom, son of James Thom & Bethia Smith, was born on 8 July 1890 in the Coatbridge or Old Monkland district.^[1]

Matthew's marriage to Mary Brownlee Baillie was registered in 1924 in the Canongate district.^[2]

Matthew died on 18 June 1941 in Coatbridge and his estate passed probate on 21 July 1942 in Llandudno.^[3]
