Johanne was born about 1841. She passed away about 1928.

Research Notes

It is known that Johanne had two daughters, Auguste and Hulda. At some point Johanne was married to Heinrich Thieme in Germany as he is listed as the father on Hulda's birth certificate. Johanne came to the USA without Heinrich; the reason for this is unknown. At some point after her arrival in the USA, she appeared to have married a man with the surname Voss as her grave marker bears the surname Voss. She is buried in the Kindervater family plot and there is no one else by the name of Voss buried in the plot.

There is evidence to suggest that perhaps Johanne gave birth to a son in Germany between the births of Hulda and Auguste. The child, August Thiemrodt, was born on 11/04/1866 in Blanderode and has the following information on his birth certificate: Mother: Johanne Christine Thiemrodt Father: unknown

While it cannot be stated with certainty that Johanne Christine Thiemrodt and Johanne Thiemrodt Thieme Voss are one and the same, the gr-gr-granddaughter of Johanne Christine Thiemrodt, Claudia Lindeholz, has reported to Brenda Sanders that when she was a child, she was told by her grandmother that her gr-gr-grandmother emigrated to Little Rock.

Claudia Lindeholz also provided the following marriage information regarding a Johanne Christine Thiemrodt and Heinrich Thieme which she obtained from the Evangelische Kirchenbuecher 1557-1940 (online database): Year of Marriage: 1868 Place of Marriage: Stalberg, Germany (there is no Stalberg, but there is a Stolberg in the same general area from which the family originated) Age: Heinrich's age at the time of the marriage was listed as 22. Johanne's age is not given but she would have been approximately age 27.

Johanne's first child, Auguste, was born in 1864. Although Auguste listed her maiden name as Thieme on her US passport application, if the above marriage information is correct, she would have been born before her mother married Heinrich Thieme (if the marriage information above is truly that of Johanne Thiemrodt Thieme Voss).

Johanne's last child of record, Hulda, was not born until 1877.
