Charles Jacobus Theron was born 27 November 1947 in Namibia and baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church 28 March 1964.[1]. Charles was the son of Daniël Theron.
Charles married Gerda Maritz, the daughter of Johanna Maria Barindina (Stofberg) and Jacob Johannes Maritz. Gerda Maritz is of Afrikaner (Dutch and German) descent. Charles and Gerda Theron are the parents of actress Charlize Theron .
Charles died 21 June 1991 in Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa. He was buried in Rynsoord Cemetery, Benoni, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng, South Africa.[2]
