Biography

Leigh was born in 1932. He was the son of Thomas Terrill and Avora Albright. He married Louise in 1955. He passed away in 2018.

• Obituary "Leigh E. Terrill, 86, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was born in Bethany, West Virginia, the son of the late Thomas Edward and Avora (Albright) Terrill and married to Louise A. (Webb) Terrill.

Leigh was an educator for 42 years in Lancaster County. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, the Pennsylvania State University in 1953, and Millersville University in 1967 with a Master’s in Guidance and Counseling. He was a member of The Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster, Free and Accepted Masons – Lamberton Lodge, NEA – National Education Assoc., PSEA – PA State Education Assoc., and PASR – PA School Assoc. of Retirees. Leigh was an avid golfer, traveler, reader, and Penn State football fan who will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Surviving besides his wife are his children, Dr. Barbara Terrill-Kettering married to Richard of Millersville, PA, Dr. Thomas H. Terrill married to Donna of Macon, GA, Evelyn F. Terrill of San Diego, CA, and Alice M. Lux married to William of Lewes, DE; his grandchildren, Andrew, Vanessa, Rebecca, Rachel, Jessica, and Kyle; his great- granddaughter, Iris Avora; and his brothers, James Terrill and Grant Terrill. Preceding him in death are his siblings, David Terrill, Robert Terrill, and Frances Reilly. Relatives and friends are invited to Leigh’s Funeral Service on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Groffs Family Funeral and Cremation Service, 528 W. Orange St. (corner of W. Orange and Pine Sts.), Lancaster, PA. There will be a Viewing on Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private.
