Biography

Michele is the third child and third daughter of Charles and Helen Daly Terrien. She was born at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester MA. She moved from Worcester to Ashaway RI with her parents and siblings in 1957. She was called Shelly by family and friends. She married George S. McGowan Jr. in November 1961. They had 3 children, 2 daughters and one son. The family lived in North Stonington CT. Michele was an avid reader. At age 19, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Yet, she raised her family with the support of a most kind and loving husband. Her death came early, at age 36, from complications of her illness. She is buried in Union Cemetery, North Stonington, CT.
