William was born on 3 August 1852 in Pilkington Township, Wellington County, Ontario, Canada.
William married Janet Cook on 8 October 1873.[1][2]
In 1887 William farmed at Lot 4, Concession 2, Proton Township with his brother-in-law, Thomas Cook.[3]
William passed away on 31 January 1920 in Proton Township.[4]
He is buried beside his wife in Crystal Section in Mount Forest Cemetery.[5][6]
On 17 March 1920 joint executors, Oliver Tebby and Alfred Bilton, held a public auction sale at American Hotel in Mount Forest for the Estate of William Tebby.
The sale was advertised in the Mount Forest Confederate and Representative with the following on offer: "Driving Horse; Top Buggy nearly new; Open Buggy; Cutter; Waggon; Set Light Harness nearly new; About 6 Bags Potatoes; Small Quantity of Oats."[7][8]
