When Sarah Lucretia Taylor was born on May 7, 1886, her father, William, was 31, and her mother, Sarah, was 18. She married Horace Allen Simms on November 8, 1914, in Brooks, Georgia. They had three children during their marriage. She died on September 18, 1969, in Pasco, Peru, at the age of 83, and was buried in Dade City, Florida.
