Biography
Howard is the son of Howard M. Tarr and Trudy Tarr. He was born in 1930 and spent the first 14 years in Holidays Cove, W.Va. He then moved to Fontana, Calif for 4 years before joining the US Navy for 4 years.
He married Marlene Nugent in July of 1952. They have 3 children, 10 grand children and 13 great grand children. Worked for 2 years in Japan and 2 years in Florida, working the remaining years in California, using his Navy Electronics training in the commercial and military aircraft industry until retiring to Springfield, Missouri in 1996.
Has survived two earthquakes, a typhoon, an ice storm and a fire.
Has enjoyed cruises and traveling to Europe, through out the Mediterranean and Caribbean and much of our nations natural wonders.
Has enjoyed playing golf and tennis, line, round and ballroom dancing, swimming, table tennis, all board games, gardening and Duplicate Bridge, having reached Ruby Life Master status. Currently enjoys reading and bridge.
Became a Christian in 1964 and worshiped under the teaching and mentoring of too many great men to list. Currently a member of the All Saints Anglican Church.
I went from 135 ponds to 180 pounds the first 7 months of marriage testifying to what a great cook my wife is. She has been my steady companion these past 66 years, encouraging me when I'm down and loving me regardless of the warts.
