Robert was born 12 Jun 1821, Bahia, Brazil and baptised there on 15 June 1821 the son of Robert Synge and Anna Follett. He was later baptised 12 Jun 1825 Oakham Northamptonshire. [1]

- Major Robert Follett Synge. Died 22 Sept 1860 aged 39. Served 20 years in the 26th (Cameronian) 67th and 1st West India regiments. Present at every engagement in the first Chinese war.
