Their first born daughter, Dora Swick was born on 14 Aug 1887.[6]
By 1900 while still living in Pleasant, the family had grown by four more children - Howard Davis, Charles Everett, Eliza Jane, and Gordon.[7]
On 15 May 1910 Simon (49) and wife, Mary (Heatherly) Swick (50) and four of their children were still in Pleasant and living together. (Of note, their younger son Gordon Swick was not shown. The circumstances of his not being an enumerated resident is not known.)[8] It should also be noted that on the 1920 US census there was a son Elden L Swick (age 16) living with the widowed mother, Mary (Heatherly) Swick (60) and Dora (30) but was also not enumerated as a resident in the family home in 1910. (Why was he not named? Where was he?)[9]
He died 3 Jun 1913, at age 52. in Barbour County, West Virginia, USA and was buried at Mount Olive Cemetery in Philippi, Barbour, WV.[2]
