Ellen was born in 1840. She was the daughter of Richard Sturt and Madelaina Dorridon.

Ellen aged 18 married John Adrian Vanrenen on 24 May 1858 in Landour, Bengal, India. She was the daughter of Richard Sturt.^[1]

Ellen died in 1897, aged 59, and was buried on 23 December 1897 in Ealing & Old Brentford Cemetery, Ealing, Greater London, England.^[2]

Her death aged 59 was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1897 in Brentford.^[3]
