The Strozier Cemetery is located in Meriwether County, Georgia between Greenville and Lagrange on U.S. Hwy. 109. Reuben Strozier and his wife Pheriby Callaway Strozier moved from Wilkes Co., GA in 1837 and built the Strozier Plantation on more than 1,200 acres in Land Lots 56, 57, 58, 59, and 71 in District 9. They built a large house for their family of 13 children.

The Strozier home place was probably the four-up, four-down, two story style home with wide halls common in the area. However, it has been reported that the house contained a different detail -- four massive brick columns supported the front porch. The Strozier family occupied the large house and continued to farm the land for many years. Reuben Strozier died in 1850, and his wife Pheriby died in 1865. Reuben's will left the plantation to his son Enoch Frank, who died in 1864 at the Battle of Griswoldsville. Enoch Frank's wife Mary Jane continued to farm the land until her death in 1897. A few years later the house was destroyed by fire. Its exact location is unknown. Many believe the house was located on the just north of the present highway.

Strozier Family Cemetery The cemetery is 48' x 62' and contains 37 graves (possibly more that are unmarked). In the cemetery are buried Reuben Strozier and probably his wife Pheriby Callaway Strozier, several of their children, their spouses and children. Also buried there is Reuben's mother, Margaret Strozier, widow of Revolutionary Soldier Peter Strozier. Margaret's grave has been marked by the Daughters of the American Revolution, which designated Margaret as a Revolutionary War Patriot. The oldest grave is that of infant Nancy E. H. Strozier, daughter of William C. Strozier, and is dated August 11, 1841.
