Harry Stowell was Killed in Action during World War I.
Harry was born in Keighley, Yorkshire, England. His parents were Robert Stowell, and Sarah Ann Hopkinson. Harry spent his youth in Keighley. He began his working career as a "Doffer" in a worsted mill at age 13, then became a Plumber. He was working at this trade when he married Violetta Lund in 1903. The couple were married at Saint Andrew Church in Keighley, on September 15. Harry and Violetta had six children between 1901, and 1910. It appears that the oldest, Arthur, was born out of wedlock.
Harry was a member of the Duke of Wellington's Own (West Riding) Regiment serving in World War I, when he died from wounds suffered in battle in the Western European Theatre. He was killed on April 9, 1915. He is buried in Boulogne Cemetery, Eastern Part IV, UK Graves, P-3.
(Note** Harry is listed as Henry in "UK, Soldiers Died in The Great War", but the actual record is for Harry, as listed in his soldiers records documents with correct regimental number).
