Biography
Caroline Stowell was born in Peru, Massachusetts, on September 11, 1804, the third of twelve children of Hervey Stowell (1775-1857) and Margaret Converse (1779-1824). She married Elijah Augustus Wentworth (1800-1858) of nearby Hinsdale October 7, 1824, in Peru. She died on August 5 1838 at age 38 as a result of the birth of her third child, Esther Caroline, who had died on May 13 after surviving for 6 weeks. Caroline is buried in Hinsdale.
