Biography

• Douglas was born in 1950s. He is the son of George Douglas Storie and Arlene Kathyrn Mitchell.

• Raised in Chicago 'burbs

• Served 20 years in the US Navy

• Bachelors degree

• I'm of Scottish, Irish, English, German, and a wee bit of Scandinavian ancestry.

• My father's Paternal line in North America between the 18th century and early 19th century. His maternal line arrived to American shores in December 1894.

• My maternal lines, as best I can tell, arrived during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Both family lines have ancestral and cousin lines who fought in North America's Wars from skirmishes with the local indigenous people, French n Indian War, American Rev., War of 1812, Civil War, Spanish American War, WW I, WW II, Vietnam, and both The Persian Gulf as well as the War on Terror.

• One of my best documented ancestral family lines is the EMBREE family. Descendants of Robert Embree and his wife Mary Bassett of 17th century Stamford, Connecticut. All documented in 4 volumes, "EMBREE FOOTPRINTS", 1997 by the late Robert Ambler.

It covers known families until 1 generation removed from the birth last name Embree.
