Yadkin County was created from Surry County in 1850.

While Rachel's parent's aren't listed in the Quaker Books, her brother Newell is.

Re: [Jester] Rachel Stoneman

Pat,

Actually during the Stoneman Reunion Genealogy Session on Saturday the 28th of July working with Carol Stoneman Roller, from Californina and Kent Stoneman, from Vermont who headed up the session we made two corrections to the Stoneman Genealogy.

1. James Stoneman married to Sarah Freeman, who came to Grayson County Va, Parents have been listed various places as John Stoneman and Elizabeth Markham. The Stonemans say that this is not correct, that James Stoneman's parents are unknown. And that Rachel Stoneman was not a daughter who could have married Jacob Jester. That destroys my link up as Rachel Stoneman being the wife of Jacob Jester, I am changing her to an unknown.

2. They say that William Jester b. 1825 married in 1845 Rachel Stoneman b. 1825 dtr of John and Elizabeth Stoneman, that she never fully recovered from the birth of John M. Jester in 1846 and died of complications 4/28/1848. Neither I nor they have a marrige record for William Jester & Rachel Stoneman in 1845 and it's not recorded by William Wade Hinshaw's researcher. Hinshaw's researcher did record Rachel Stoneman Jesters death as I previously noted.

3. Kent Stoneman had started to record the John M. Jester the only son of William and Rachel who married Julia Caudle line to the present working with Harvey Dinkins b. 1901 (now deceased) son of Mary Permelia Jester and Luther Asbery Dinkins, I am going to help out with this work.

Nancy Taylor above was a sister to My GGGrandmother Sarah Taylor who married Nicholas Mickles. Matthew Caswell Jester is listed in the Lucy Hinshaw Jester household on the 1870 Yadkin County census, as Mathew Jester, Nancy Taylor had died and John M. Jester had not yet remarried to Julia A. Caudle at the time of the 1870 census.
