Biography

Amy Stokes was born in 1869. She was the daughter of Henry Stokes and Sydney Elizabeth Mangan. ^[1] Amy was baptised on 8th September 1869 at St Mary the Virgin in West Derby, Lancashire, England. ^[2]

In 1893, Amy married Reginald Serjeantson. The marriage took place in Duval, Florida, United States. ^[3] Amy and Reginald had two children while in Florida (Amy F, born about 1894 and Mary S, born about 1905).

On 31st January 1901, Amy and her family had moved back to England and were living in The Green Danehill Road in Horsted Keynes, Sussex. Amy's husband was a dairy farmer. ^[4]

By 1911, the family had moved again. This time they were living in Chaddesley Corbett, Worcestershire. Reginald had switched vocations and was now an estate agent. They had three daughters living with them and they also had a servant. Amy was actually absent during the 1911 census, but Reginald was still married to her. ^[5]

In 1939. Amy was residing with her husband and their daughter, Gladys P (born 22 June 1903) at Newington House, Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire, England. ^[6]

Amy passed away in 1953. Her death was registered in Stratford on Avon in Warwickshire, England. She was 84-years-old. ^[7]
