OBITUARY

Carl Lester Stithem son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Stithem was born August 14, 1919 and died December 29 aged five years, 4 months and 15 days, of diphtheria after an illness of 24 hours.

His uncles, Omar and Carl Stithem and F. R. Burgess of Palco came up and took the little body down to Pleasant View Cemetery east of Palco where he was laid to rest in the family lot beside his two little brothers and a sister.

Then on January 4 little Floyd died he was born June 19, 1918 aged 6 years 6 month 16 days. He died of that dread Diphtheria also after an illness of several days.

He was taken to the cemetery on the fifth and laid beside the other little ones. This is sure a sad home at this time and we sure sympathize with the bereaved parents and children in these sad and lonely hours. The Doctor reports the rest of the children out of danger.^[3]
