Hello family of planet Earth! Technology is making this very exciting. My original inspiration was my specific last name and where hence I came hither. Astounded I was to find much much more was in store. There happened to be a considerable amount before the 16 generations I was able to find on my own and add to jump start the process. Thank You Wikitree if I can help anyone out there I would!

Hi David, it's been eleven days since I asked if your still interested in the US Civil War Project. I'll assume if I haven't heard from you in the next ten days that your interest in the project has changed, and I'll remove your badge. I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

Sorry for the super late response, life in the way but yes right now I'm giving up commitments until I can manage an excess of time to come back. Thanks always for reaching out. -David-

Hello Cousin David,

Check out the photos on the profile of our cousin, Hetty Stillwell Lee (Stillwell-1231) from the 1946 Stillwell Reunion in New York City. Do you recognize any of your ancestors or relatives? Our cousin Terry Morse's mother, Hellen Lois Stillwell Morse is sitting close to my mother, (Lucille Dawson at that time) two seats to the left. If you recognize anyone, please leave a message on Hetty's profile to identify the relatives you found.

New topic: Check out Matthew Lowe's profile:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lowe-2422

He was an associate of fellow pirate, Daniel Stillwell. Are we any relation?

Thank you very much, Cousin Marion

Daniel Stillwell (1781-1861) and David Stillwell are both descendants of Nicholas Stillwell Jr. (bef.1606-1671)
posted by David Stillwell
Thank you, Cousin David, for your suggestion, and for calling attention to the Stillwell lineage. Whereas Daniel Stillwell (1781-1861) was a descendant of our common ancestor, Nicholas Stillwell Jr., the pirate, Daniel Stillwell, was not the same man as Daniel Stillwell (1781-1861) because the incident involving Matthew Lowe took place in 1715 and the pirate, Daniel Stillwell, would have to have been born probably before 1695.

Note that this still does not rule out the hypothesis that Daniel Stillwell, the pirate, was a descendant of Nicholas Stillwell Jr.. We just don't have any sources to prove it.

Stillwell-206 Apologies

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Stillwell-206 was the Daniel I meant. I am not 100% as there seems some conflicting data here. as 206 would have been 79 yrs old where Pirate Dan was 62ish when demise came, I think I have read.Time frame is close, but 206 is also cited as being a teacher not a pirate.

Thank you, Cousin David, for the clarification about Stillwell-206 and the information about Pirate Dan. I would like to establish a profile for him if he does not already have one. Can you cite your sources? They would be most helpful at profile-creation time.

Hi David, it's been a couple of weeks since asking if you wished to remain in the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'd appreciate you letting me know by the end of February if you desire to remain in the Project. If I haven't heard from you by then, I'll assume you no longer wish to participate. I hope to hear from you soon, thank you.

Hi David, I just wanted to thank you for all the work you've done to improve the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'm doing a check-in with all project members and wanted to verify that you're still interested in being a member of the project. Also, any suggestions for the Project would be welcome. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi David,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

I’m going to suggest that the New Netherland Settlers project might fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s profile, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Have questions? Reply to this comment or ask in the comments section of my profile.

 :)

P.S. We have several family names in common. There's a good chance we're related. :)

Hello David, and welcome to WikiTree.

We are very glad to have you here. As a Stillwell descendant, I have documented some of the Stillwell genealogy along my line - James Stillwell. You may be interested to know about other Stillwell genealogists. One notable is Hetty Stillwell Lee. She organized Stillwell Family Reunions for many years in the New York City area, which were open to all Stillwell descendants, regardless of specific family branch. Please check out the photos on Hetty's profile and tell me if you recognize anyone from among your relatives.

Hi David,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources; find or merge duplicates; clean up GEDCOM or merged biographies; or interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

I have researched, but not entered, Booth back to 1250. I haven't found any Native American connections, but that doesn't mean another branch may not have them.
