Biography

John Rodman Stewart was born on March 19, 1879 in Duncannon Bor, Perry Co, PA, son of William Jones Stewart (1852–1897) and Anna Matilda Colestock (1858–1943). His siblings were:

John (30) married Nellie Mae Baker (21) (born on December 16, 1887 in Sullivan, Crawford Co, Mo; daughter of William Henry Baker and Mary Ann (Jones) Baker) on August 12, 1909 in Winterham, Amelia Co, Va. Their children were:

John died on February 19, 1961 in Emsworth, Allegheny Co, PA, aged 81.[1] [2]

Looks like he was son of William Jones Stewart and Annie Matilda "Tillie" (Colestock) Stewart.

According to his WWI Draft card he was a "Structural Draftsman" so it makes since to go to NYC when the big skyscrapers were going up... But apparently he found life back in PA more tenable. He registered in Beaver Co. PA, around 1917 and was found in Emsworth in subsequent Census records.
