Harold L. Steward was born in 1916. Harold graduated from Quincy Senior High School, Quincy, Illinois, in 1935. He was serving in the U. S. Army Air Forces during World War II when his plane was hit by enemy fire and crashed into the Mediterranean Sea. He was a bombardier aboard a B-24(D) bomber.
