Biography

Alice Irene Steward was born in Newport, Christiana Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware, USA, in February 1892. She was the daughter of William Steward and Emma Pritchard. Her birthplace was confirmed on her son's 1913 birth certificate. ^[1]

On 8 February 1913 in Newport, New Castle, Delaware, Alice I. Steward married Thomas J Hanna (abt.1889-abt.1958), also born in Newport, New Castle, Delaware. ^[2] They had one son: Harold Thomas Hanna, born 22 September 1913 in Newport, New Castle, Delaware. ^[1]

On the April 1950 US Census, Alice I. Hanna was recorded as age 58, married to Thomas J. Hanna, 61 years old. They were living in Newport, New Castle, Delaware, USA. Thomas J. Hanna was working in a Pigment (Paint) factory as a "Lithophoneoperator". Their nephew, Charles J. Currinder, 40, single, also working in the Pigment factory, was living with them. ^[3]

Alice Irene (Steward) Hanna passed away in 1971 in New Castle County, Delaware, and was buried next to her late husband, who died in 1958, at St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Newport, New Castle, Delaware, USA. ^[4]
