Biography

William was born in 1816.^[1]

William and his parents moved to Loudoun County, Virginia, when William was around nine years old. The Loudoun County, VA records moved "Wm Stewart, Jr., about nine years old, son of Wm. Stewart, to David Jury, to be a farmer, parents unable to support him."^[2]

WIlliam married Elizabeth E. McPherson.^[1][3] The following children were living with them, as of the US Census of 1860:^[4]

2. Virginia Steward, aged 10
3. Alzira Steward, aged 8
4. Sarah Steward, aged 4
5. Clarence Steward, aged 1
6. George Steward, aged 12 (adopted?)

William and Elizabeth also had the following children:
